Luxembourg Comics: a small nation with big stories to discover

The dynamism of Luxembourg comics, marked by their richness and diversity, is making a strong statement on the international cultural scene.

From 29 November to 1 December, Luxembourg was in the spotlight at the prestigious Salon de la Bande Dessinée (SoBD) 2024 in Paris, illustrating the remarkable growth of its unique artistic heritage.

To mark the occasion, a special publication entitled "The History of Comics in Luxembourg" was unveiled, after being presented at the Walfer Bicherdeeg.

This influence is based on talented authors and illustrators such as Dirk Kesseler, whose works, alongside those of other Luxembourg authors, highlight the country's history and culture while crossing borders.

These artists draw on Luxembourg stories and traditions to enrich the world of the ninth art and establish themselves as a singular voice on the European scene.

The Frënn vun der 9. Konscht association, supported by the commitment of numerous artists and enthusiasts, plays a central role in promoting this diversity. Thanks to their work, creations ranging from striking historical accounts to captivating modern explorations are finding their place and reaching an ever-wider audience.
